Axiom Celebrates Christmas Charity Donation Success
2017 finished in a flourish with a charity initiative driven by the company as a gesture of goodwill during the Christmas season.
As in previous years, rather than sending Christmas cards to all of their clients, AXIOM Engineering Associates decided to make a donation for the sum of £1000 split between four separate charities nominated by their employees. Although the selection of charity proved difficult, the organisations chosen to have the opportunity to receive funds were Prostate Cancer UK, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Daisy Chain and South Tees Hospitals Charity: James Cook Hospital.
All recipients of the AXIOM Christmas e-card were then asked to vote on the charities named and the donation divided according to the number of votes received. With the votes counted and verified following the Christmas break, the results of the voting translated into the award of the following donations:
- Prostate Cancer: £445
- Guide Dogs for the Blind: £233
- Daisy Chain: £212
- South Tees Hospital: £110
An additional sum of £50 was also donated to the charity selected by the winner of this year’s AXIOM Christmas image organised by Guisborough Photo Group. The winner, Mrs. Enid Harrison selected, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, bringing the total awarded to this charity to £283.
Rob Johnson, Director and Principal Mechanical Engineer said, “We would like to thank everyone who took the time to read about our proposed donations detailed within this year’s AXIOM Christmas e-Card and then went on to vote. Strength of the voting along with feedback from our clients has clearly demonstrated the success and support for this initiative. This will continue to remain one of our many charitable activities as part of our ongoing commitment to support the vital work carried out by both local and national charitable organisations.”
