Axiom Embraces National Apprenticeship Week
AXIOM Engineering Associates continues to support a national initiative which aims to provide an alternative route to a fulfilling career.
This week, we are joining other employers and apprentices from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships as apart of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW 2018) which started on the 5th March. Now in its 11th year, it is an exciting opportunity to highlight how apprenticeships benefit apprentices, business, the local community and the overall economy.
The programme provides our apprentices with the skills and knowledge to pursue their chosen discipline. As well as formal training, they work closely with experienced AXIOM team members. By the time they complete the scheme, they are fully equipped with foundations for a promising and exciting career.
Current AXIOM apprentices, Adam Foxton and Daniel Burridge will successfully complete their three year programme in September 2018. Following a one year BTEC: Post 16 course, Adam was recruited via local training organisation, NETA as an NDT Technician whilst Daniel, initially studied a 1 year apprenticeship in groundworks before transferring to NETA and then also secured the same role.
With AXIOM, both Adam and Daniel have had a varied programme of training with “hands on” site experience which underpins their theoretical studies.
Daniel said, “I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work for Axiom. I have met a load of new people who are passing their knowledge down to me. The last three years have flown by and I have really enjoyed the whole experience.”
Adam added, “Working with AXIOM gives me the opportunity to work in a workplace that I enjoy and want to get up in the morning to. The work I do is different every day and I’m always learning.”
In their support to bridge the skills gap in the engineering industry, AXIOM will be looking to recruit new apprentices again this year.

We recognise that apprenticeships are a tremendous way in which talent can be channelled into learning whilst also being employed.
